Getting Organized With Personal Checks

Although being neat organized can sometimes mean putting in additional time in effort into certain tasks, most often it proves to be worthwhile in the long run. For instance, although it takes a couple of extra minutes to write out your personal checks and enter the check information into the check register in place of using your credit card, you will benefit greatly.  When you swipe your credit card it is so quick and easy that you don’t even think twice about it.  You don’t stop and think whether you have enough cash available to cover the check. Therefore, so many people go into debt from using their credit cards when they don’t have the means to pay for what they are purchasing. When you take the time to write a check, at the same time you will take the time to think, can I afford this purchase? Aside from that, you will also have a much better feel for the money going in and out of your account. You will see that the use of personal checks is well worth the effort that you put in.

It will also take you a couple of minutes longer to enter all your appointments into your calendar including the correct date, time and contact information.  Sometimes you think that relying on your memory will do the trick.  However, when you have multiple appointment to remember as well as so many other things on your mental to do list, you are best off taking a couple of extra seconds to enter it into your calendar, to avoid unnecessary aggravation. Nothing is more aggravating then missing a long awaited appointment or better yet showing up for a meeting or appointment on the wrong day. You don’t want that happening to you.  Take the time to enter all you important dates and appointments in your calendar.

Also, how many times to you wake up in middle of the night thinking about things that you need to take care of tomorrow.  It’s very annoying to be lying awake at night, hoping to remember what you need to do the next day.  A great idea is to keep a pad of paper and a pen at the night table next to you, so that you can jot down really quick what it is that you need to remember and then you will be able to go back to sleep worry free.  In general, keeping a steady list of all the things you need to do and the items that you need to buy will help you to stay so much more organized and in control. It happens all the time that as soon as you return from the grocery you realize that you forgot to buy some of the items that you needed, usually the item that you need most.  If you write down all the items that you need to buy, you will come home with what you need. The couple of minutes that you put into writing a list will save you lots of time in the long run.

Another thing that takes a little bit of training is to put things away properly the first time.  Yes, it does take longer to hang up you jacket properly and in the right closet instead of dumping it on the first chair available.  However, you will have no trouble finding it when you need it next and it won’t either look like a crumpled up mess. It also goes much faster to stuff all of your mail into your drawer to be sorted out later.  However, you may miss a time sensitive piece of mail that you need to address right away.  Also how many Shop Rite circulars do you need at once? Take the time and get used to the routine of putting things away properly right away.  With some extra thought and effort in whatever it is that you need to do, you will gain in so many ways.
